COVID-19 affects different people in diverse ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalisation.
People with mild symptoms who are otherwise healthy should manage their symptoms at home.
On average, it takes 5–6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to show, however it can take up to 14 days.
If you are unwell, you must stay home. If you become very ill, go to hospital, or call an ambulance.
If you have tested positive for COVID, you should isolate at home and be re-tested after 5 days. You should continue to isolate until you have had a negative test result.
